About, 2009 and beyond...
In 2009 MINI celebrates their 50th birthday of creating the small car that's loved across the world and here at kaes MINI club we celebrate our 3rd. Since we began in 2006 members of our MINI club have driven thousands of miles together sharing the enthusiasm of the MINI scene while touring some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe.
The idea for the club was born in 2005 after attending MINI United 2005 which was held in Misano, Italy. In the following months we started discussing how to make the idea into reality with the original two names considered for the club which were MINI Mayhem or MINI manoeuvres, in the end both names were dropped for the more regional ‘kent and east sussex MINI club’ by which we are known today. In the first year of the club’s existence the club grew, friendships were made and as well as organising many events in the area we attended other events across the country.
2007 was another great year which included countless events including celebrating our 1st birthday. In the summer the club had its first trip abroad for MINI United 2007 & our ‘Monte Carlo or Bust’ trip which involved driving through France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy on some of Europe’s finest roads surrounded by stunning scenery. Things continued much the same despite 2008 being a difficult year for many people in the club.
Things have started off well in 2009 with the club having already ventured abroad to France & Switzerland for ‘MINIs 2 Geneva 2009’. May is set to be another hectic month including great events such as the London 2 Brighton & MINI United 2009 in England, both events the club will be attending in full force.
